>>11288936Pretty much this is the old chicken and egg, feedback loop question. Drug response really depends on individual physiological, and psychological factors. Whether someone will pursue a drug depends on their environment and perception of it. Whether someone continues with a drug is variable, as well. That's a matter of feedback loop, desire, and need. For example look at coffee. How much coffee would get drank in a polychronic society? Several fold less, I would imagine.
I've known several lifetime ganja smokers, 40+ years. Their personality depends. There is a chill aspect, but that varies as well. Again, environment, feedback loops, habituation. I smoked the ganja a few times but didn't like it for three reasons:
-It brought back my childhood Alice in Wonderland Syndrome several fold
-Made me feel retarded and depressed during and after
-Compromised an "internal control" oriented psyche. My functioning is predicated on being able to filter and translate the bulk of what's coming from the subconscious mind, before it comes into view. If I am made to watch the stream of my thoughts and have flashbacks into the past, it's terrifying and moreover, relative to present desire and demands, useless clutter. I don't want to change, I can't, I'm using it. Therefore, I avoid, because I fear. I'll literally get pulled back to where I was when I was 5 years old, then left there, unable to escape or shift out of it. No.
Therefore, I do not.
