put the time in. the biggest thing is knowing the unit circle, understanding the trig identities, and most of all knowing how to derive them. You can memorize just a few key facts and you will pass every test if you just know how to work from those.
sin^2x + cos^2x = 1
know your radians/angles on the unit circle. 45 45 90 and 30 60 90 triangles.
definitely know sine cos tan. there’s some mnemonic to remember the quadrants and which trig functions are positive negative in each one. i believe i used "all students take calculus" which
1st quadrant: all are positive
2nd: sin csc
3rd: tan cot
4th: csc sec
once you do enough practice problems it’ll just all become cemented into your memory where you won’t even need to hesitate. but it’s also very useful to actually understand the concepts and why everything is defined the way it is, or why each equation is what it is. this will go a long way and beats the hell out of trying to memorize everything.
what particularly are you having problems with? trig is one of those things that can seem really confusing if it isn’t explained properly. a bad teacher can really ruin it for you, but once you get a good explanation it really is very intuitive.
