Maybe if you are a super genius and can get quick tenure and professorship academia is better for you, but if you are anything below super genius then trust me that dealing with the bureaucracy of the corporate world is 10 times easier than dealing with the bureaucracy of modern universities. Modern universities are such a fucking shit show, it's horrible. It's so fucking horrible. If you are not a super genius then I do not recommend you do this. And even if you are, remember than even guys like Wolfram recognized that business was a way better path than academia to achieve his goals.
