It is a tool akin to PCR. It doesn't make sense for anyone but lab rats to care about it. it IS super awesome for the things that it can do, but the things that it can do are only useful to people doing cloning and making mutant cell lines and whatnot.

its been used in a lot of transgene experiments.

the protein and the system itself is still being improved upon but its not crazy to believe it can be used, particularly in stuff involving embryos in the future.

i mean, it already has for those china babies.
