Take any criteria such as number of patent published or scientific paper and you'll see that we're progressing much faster that we were 100 years ago.
What is being worked on is also much harder, what people used to see as revolutionnary 300 years ago can now be seen in high school.
This feeling some in here have that we were progressing faster during the 20th century than this one is just an illusion.
