OP here, I will give you a speedy gestalt:

All of the usual masters of IQ (NASA/stanford of course) conducted various "tests" and released info over the years, trickling them out slower each time. The tests were either inconclusive, or there were "debates" over the results.

There was supposedly a cubesat (or some other such meme-sat launched) with a small "prototype" on it, but the details are few and far between as well as the data (of course).

Nowadays, it is on the memory hole regimen, like most things that are paradigm shattering.
