>>11281155>Biology is more complicated and we have computers that can handle the data now.That is quite correct, biology is a field extremely dependent on the advances of other fields and technology, even physicist get to design their own telescopes, chemists their own reactors and mathematics have found some use of computers but they can say they almost designed the computers themselves
Meanwhile, the whole field of microscopy required advances in optics, and then advances in chemistry for stains, and so on and so on, and the only work that biology could say that has done by itself(taxonomy and heredability) had to be completely rethinked with the advances in computing power.
But now, biology is actually in a interesting point with biochemistry and has made some interesting promises about our future and our relationship with nature and our environment, by changing both in any way we want which like it or not have put people quite hyped about a future of designer babies with 200 IQ with the bodies of athletes and proportionated like greek statues, which is almost propaganda but propaganda sells, that means more grants and more people into the field trying to hop in early, which only increases the attention.
They are in for a lesson in humility and natural complexity of course, but oddly enough any biologist you talk about it will say "well is not imposible we just need more research" which is the oldest trick in the book for any scientist that seems to still be effective.
