Not a geomatics guy. But would be cool to see how electromagnetic disuniformity on the earth affects cloud coverage

electromagnetic dis uniformity? what do you mean? induced electromagnetic dis uniformity?

Cloud coverage is something that concerns the Geomatics area at least on the remote sensing area

I mean how water based weather patterns, due to water being positivle charged, may be affected by electromagnetic forces within the earth.
I.e. different areas having different electromagnetic forces acting on them

Right but humans cant predict.the weather yet. Im just thinking of other forces to help with model and simulation.

that's pretty interesting, and indeed it sounds like something that could be helpful on modeling. Weather is something very unpredictably annoying... ask any dutch how do they have all 4 seasons in one day!

talk to NOAA or NGS and see what they require for you to become a Geodosist. I think maybe you need to be working towards a Phd, but worth looking into

Land Surveying / Geomatics is one thing

Geodesy is something else

Land surveyors are the guys you usually notice on the side of the road. Though they do alot more than just that.
Geodosists do some of that stuff too, but they spend more time measuring and modelling the size, shape of the earth, and gravity, etc.,,

It's not the 80s anymore, remote sensing has applications in countless industries and is exploding in popularity. Especially with the advent of drones. Of course, the successful companies are the ones who use the holy trinity of Geomatics / GIS / RS competently together. Either way, we're all on the same team

surveying is the oldest and more "noble" one, it's a lot of total stations, gps, etc.. and a lot of walking around

There are a lot, like navigation engineer, remote sensing, spatial analyst but I generally do this division because this part requires some good knowledge in the basic principles of programming

Remote Sensing is booming in the agriculture field, with satellites/drones what is sometimes called precision agriculture.

And there is more, you see remote sensing used on mapping, navigation, risk and management, and I've seen applied to logistics at well

Got some vector tiles work coming soon. I already build a global tile package out of OpenStreetMap once a quarter. I'm an Esri-fag and off to Palm Springs for the dev summit in March.

I've heard it, but I honestly don't understand why would someone cringe when someone says something like surveying engineering, geomatics engineering or geoespatial engineering... I believe it's because the majority of people don't really know what engineering actually is, but not sure tho?....
Cause there was a time where people with "software engineer" as a title where made fun as well
