My brain is around 1720 grams based on my estimations, my neurologist told me that it is far above average as welll.

Unfortunately I have a neurodegenerative disease I have dementia and the neurologist was hinting at this she said I need to keep my mind active with suduko etc.

I used to be extremely intelligent before I got dementia but the disease just destroyed everything.

I used the software 3D slicer, and OsiriX.

I found a set of images where the brain tissue was highlighted then I used 3D slicer to delete all the tissues except my brain the remaining brain volume was calculated in the software.multiply brain volume by density of 1.05 grams/cc

the larger volume brain will have larger surface area assuming similar amount of smoothness or lack thereof. In the scenario that the smoothness of the brain has the same distribution in both genders the result is still men having higher surface area.

I wish they had corrected the volume of the individual structures, because I feel like I'm looking at 16 tiny variations on the TBV graph. It's really hard to say "x specifically is larger in men that women, even when taking into account overall volume differences"
