>>11272273>Writing a program to set them to every conceivable position seems easier than figuring out how to write a program that only works under certain conditions (laws of physics).Because 90% of those positions create invalid states that hard lock the machine and prevent it from operating, hogging resources as it constantly reboots. This is particularly noticeable when running multiple VMs off a single CPU. You clearly aren't a programmer let alone an IT faggot because this is entry level data management. It's also how hex editing works for video games, 90% of the positions plausible simply break the game universe and prevent it from operating.
>Also, it may be easier to write a program that runs every switch position and determines whether a "universe" with specific "laws of physics" exists when the switches are in certain positions.yeah, just like a hex editor that is modified to become a video game trainer. But even then, most of the time it doesn't work until someone sits there and determines the correct inputs to give a usable, let alone desirable, output.
The only way your ideas work is if the universe is deterministic and all states infinitely reproducable, which it is not. It's far more likely -in fact it is reality- that the universe is a series of waves and particles that aren't perfectly replicate and therefore cannot emulate other universes and therefore cannot be a simulation.
