If time travel is possible why have we not been visited by time travelers? Does something bad happen before we discover time ravel?

Well, as far as modern theoretical physics is concerned, it's not possible to go back in time.

Going forward in time is however technically permitted. Of course there has not yet been anyone in the past with that technology to meet us in the present, yet...

I could be wrong but from what I have heard time travel is only possible for going into the future going into the past is impossible. Again this could be simply not true seeing as I only think I saw it somewhere on the internet

That is correct, we can travel to the future but that would require a ship with enormous energy to get near the speed of light. We don't know if going back in time is impossible but it's unlikely

Wormholes, which is the only form of backwards time travel physicists speculate about, don't allow travel to time before they were made. And even if backwards time travel to a time before the invention of the method was possible, there's no reason to think that it would be easy enough and our particular time period interesting enough for those who have discovered time travel for it to be worth it.

wormholes are openings in spacetime. Sci-Fi series usually explore them as if they only travel through space but they can also travel through time. However when you open one you must also open a corresponding hole sometime in the future, in order to travel back to the first one

no physical proof this happens.
the only proof for wormholes and negative matter as far as i know is that the equation has two solutions a positive and negative one, btw finding the length of a one side of a square using it's area also has two answers but only one is correct.
also "time travel" according to Einstein is when person experiences time faster/slower than the rest meaning that you can only go forward

Even if time travel is possible, why would anyone use it? Smallest changes is the past could result in large, unexpected differences in the future, making it effectively useless.

One potential solution is that time travel require to build a gateway and leave it there so you can go back. The solutiin in this case is because we cant build one yet.
