Reminder that there's possibly much more water underneath the surface of Mars

Reminder that there could be oxygen-producing algae somewhere on the planet

Obviously, we can't just snap our fingers and make Mars green like Earth but it's at least way more doable than Venus

There's also the, you know, surface temperature not being 800 degrees Fahrenheit

Colonization doesn’t require terraforming. Venus’ natural environment is extreme in comparison to Mars in terms of how easy it would be to construct habitats there, and Mars is the much more studied of the two in terms of viability for colonization. We know where ore veins are there, we know where ice is there, we know how to make concrete as a building material from the regolith there, it’s less massive than earth but has an atmosphere to a degree so it’s comparatively easy to land on and get off of whereas Venus has a superheated extremely dense atmosphere and almost the same gravity as earth. Mars is cold but not so cold that we couldn’t simply live beneath the ground and use traditional heaters and people could travel across the surface using modern suit technology, etc.

I have no idea, honestly. It’s few + is that it’s almost the same gravity as earth which we would find comfortable in our current state and it’d get stronger solar power than we do here because it’s closer to the Sun (If we Reduced the atmosphere to Earth-levels). I’m sure it has some awesome ore resources but accessing and exporting them is problematic to say the least.

In its current state, I don’t think we could. If we made it like Earth, then we’d get off of it the same way we get off of Earth, just slightly easier because Venus has a bit weaker gravity.

Right. Seems like it'd be a one-way trip unless you could somehow find a way to land a rocket on the surface without getting damaged, and then ferry people to that rocket from the clouds, without damaging them, then get the rocket off Venus.

You could also maybe freeze the CO2's from Venus and send them over to Mars, thus helping terraform BOTH of them.
