If Computer Science is a meme degree, what education should one pursue for Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Research? Especially if what one wants to do is do research involving how the human brain can be replicated using machinery.

There are easier ways to decipher artificial intelligence algorithms than deriving them from neuroscience. However, it will yield the most accurate representation of human psyches. You can also draw from pure mathematics. It has a tendency however to be too perfect and much less human.

You'd just need to make a script that scoured the archives and recognized frog images and saved the text with the corresponding image and then feed both into a machine learning algorithm to quantitative the ultimate frog-posting machine. Too bad you can't showcase fucking frog posting on github

do you know how much of a meme data science is ? its basically filled with people who can't code and don't know math or CS but want to sell themselves off as programmers/CS people

neuroscience is the same but even worse, its filled with psychologists, psychiatrists and other trash from sociological fields that base all their assumptions on measurements from MRTs and electrode readings

neuroscience is basically the data science of medicine lol

God forbid, I would never allow anyone to call me a fucking codemonkey. Data science degree in most decent unies is literally just a double major in stats and compsci, with a few specialized courses.

its literally just a part of CS and was one since its creation in 1950

In my shitty cheap school CS degree we don't learn lot of math and stats, there is push for more "practical" stuff - programming, networking, Linux, databases
