It has been suggested, but not yet proven that learning to use neural interfaces may come at the expense of other skills in the brain. It has been suggested(BUT NOT PROVEN), that learning to use a motor area neural interface to control a computer may cause you to not be able to play violin or some other really fine skill. Neurallink's tech does not appear to be reversible either, so is better tech for electrodes comes out, you may be screwed. I am highly doubtful the FDA will allow what neuralink has currently proposed as an elective procedure for at the very least 10 years.
