>>11261821>No, religion describes absolutely nothing and science describes everything.>religion holds nothing to learn. No, that's just your bias. Your perspective is that only immediately useful things are important. But you ignore the fact that for a human being to feel centered, at home, and balanced, there has to be some type of deep emotional connection to a belief system. Why do you still say "oh my god" whenever you're in deep pain or deep pleasure? Why indeed ...
I understand your perspective, you want to say science is the only thing that's useful. But what you don't understand is that you'll get nowhere in science unless you have the drive and the excitement that only a deep faith can provide. Faith in what? Doesn't fucking matter. For all I care you can have faith in 10 dimensional strings, or hyper-intelligent galactic apricots. It doesn't matter. Your view of religion is so limited you're used to just equate it with one of the few major religions on Earth, see how silly their behavior is, and drop it just like that. Truth is that without some kind of personal religion, you'll go down the nihilistic path and end up a depressed, ignorant, hateful, and spiteful person. You need the irrational to balance the rational and you need the rational to balance the irrational. Try to kill one, and the other gets too powerful. It's a fucking balancing game, but you do need actual intelligence to understand this
