2 = 1+1
3 = 2+1

...

You really want to read that book desu I think it's going to enlighten you about that culture/genetic boundary. It's highly recommended to read the Selfish Gene of Richard Dawkins before reading the Revolutionary Phenotype because the R.P is basically a follow up to Dawkin's book.
