Hello /sci/,.
Don't normally post here but I am a senior undergraduate who is doing independent research on metagenomics. My coding skills are pretty pitiful and over the next semester this will have to change if I am going to successfully analyze the sequence data I have collected so far. My question is what are some essential resources that would help me start getting comfortable with python scripting skills, UNIX shell operations, repository scanning, and pipeline design that I might use for this type of work? If I get into grad these are skills I will need anyway and I would like to get a head start on acquiring them.
