GABA is an ubiquitous neurotransmitter which exerts inhibitory effects at every level of the CNS.

Hystamine neurons are discrete aggregates (in fact there's only one hystaminergic nucleus in the brain) with widespread projections.

Nevertheless, BZDs and Anti-H exert rather similar effects on CNS.

Actually they have the opposite effect, histaminergic projections from hypothalamus to the cortex increase your alertness.

GABA just shuts down any sort of activity.

so antiHistaminik blocking this cause to be sleepy
The role of alertness in the cortex I tought it was primarily dependent on glutmmate and dopamine
Also the feeling of ''being anxious'' which part of the brain is activated? Amygalada?
