>>11264790>So is the social interaction on the internet less worse than no interaction at all?Probably, that's why it makes such an effective prison. It allows you to stay in a place of comfort to feeds you just enough to keep you going. And to get out of it, you have to actually make your life a lot harder in the short term.
I'm not sure what the best way is to get out of it. But... motivation comes from two sources: internal and external (motivation based on living up to the expectations of others, like a job).
Internal motivation is hard in cases where you have to keep it up day in and day out. You get tired and relapse.
External motivation tends to be easier for this kind of thing. One trick is to add sources of external motivation. Put yourself into a situation where you're "forced" to go out and do something on a regular basis. It'll be a huge pain at first but get easier with time.
Another thing is to just stop for short periods. Decide to just... go out for a day and not even touch your computer from when you wake up to when you go to bed. Go for a hike, wander around town, do ANYTHING else.Try it once a week. Try it for a week. Lock your computer away and try to quit cold turkey for a whole week, then get back to the neet life.
That's really the key, I think. To just.. try things, expecting them to fail. Evaluate why they failed and come up with new things to try.
Success comes from the experience of repeated failure without a loss in enthusiasm.
