I'm saying that in 30 years, people will maybe answer "what's the most portant thing in 2010-2020" to be something that happened but hasn't entered public (or even scientific) consciousness yet. Because only "quantum suppremecy", "one billion digits of pi" and "cute German geek with perfectoid hair" make it into the real of /sci/ internet chats and Nature articles, and not "two stinky PhD's solved ng problems for that one good stat phys Prof who at one time had a good paper... found out how to use this math trick from the 70 to renomalize this and that model and it turns out this trick can be used to the open problem and before you know it some people close to the university where the Prof works in find this leads itself to a computational interpretation of this and that liquid state model and finally the dead end of 1920 science make sense and a new branch of physics is born and keeps people entertained for two decades".
I made this up, but my point is that developments of the decade are probably not evident or known till the decade is long over
