I unironically want to avoid this vicious cycle. Way too often I choose one or two books only to learn midway that they're suboptimal and don't cover some important topic by another smug fuck. Then I encounter piece of shit who has read all these books and more who says it's best to read from as many sources as possible.

Mind you I have already selected a couple of proof books already(Velleman, polya) but I do want to know if the listed ones are some must reads as I don't want two extremes (a brainlet who read one suboptimal book or choosing to read all of them which is all so tiresome)

I am kind of autistic and can't stand choosing shit books and worrying I am missing out on something.

You've completely missed the point. You are a walking meme, and you're never going to learn anything because you'd rather just make book lists all day and copout of reading anything past the intro because "they're suboptimal" despite being 95% the same content as the next book you're going to read 10 pages of and quit.
The only way to avoid this "vicious cycle" is picking a fucking book, any book, and finishing it. Thinking you avoid it by just picking your books well enough is like thinking you can avoid a smoking habit if you just buy high enough quality cigarettes.
