They're Homo sapiens too, and Homo sapiens have been around for less than 25,000 years which is very short in evolutionary time so if they split any time from then until now, the rate of mutations as well as the effects of genetic drift have been relatively minute since not enough geological time has passed for them to have a noticable effect.
Humans are bad at everything in terms of evolution. We're not ideal organisms because we have very diverse niches, we interbreed with each other, which increases gene flow and makes us more similar, and we have lifespans that are wayyyy too long to ever notice the effects of evolution occurring.

The ancestral (primitive) trait for primates is a baculum. The reason we don't have one anymore is because humans have sophisticated mating to be more of a social event. We're not competing for women and rape is now socially condemned (even though other animals legally "rape" each other all the time). As a result, humans lost the baculum and evolved the penis of today.
It could also be the result of sexual selection. Remember, sexual selection can cause phenotypes that don't contribute to fitness of the individual to be selected for simply because they contribute to reproductive success. So if a girl likes a dude's dick to look a certain way, then that's the phenotype that will be passed on to the offspring.
