Don't lie.
There's a lot of topics I am interested in but I feel like I am not speeding up over time.
Still takes a lot of time to go through mathematical textbooks.

what's your point?
it's normal that reading math textbooks takes a lot of time. pretty much every symbol counts, so there's little extraneous text.
if you're so slow at it that you can't do your studies, just go study something else.

I have not significantly improved speed. Some of those tricks have improved my speed my a small amount and sometimes I'm more "in the zone" but nope. Guess I read 700 books. Half were just the fun kind.
