Don't get me wrong, I have worked with many minorities that have made great engineers (can't say the same for women unfortunately) but because of the
>we need to hire X black employees this yearand the HR and non technical positions being filled to the brim with useless, typically liberal, people, they significantly filter based upon skin color. This is extremely unfortunate because it takes away from the qualified minorities that actually worked to get there and puts legit dangerously stupid people in positions that they should not be. For example, I graduated with an aerospace engi degree and all the females in my class, like legit every single one, got instahired by lockheed or boeing. Same with all the minorities.
For example, I knew this one black dude who was a super great guy but was dumb as shit. He legit could not write a single intelligible sentence and was writing at a 5th grade level at best. This dude had a horrible gpa (GPA system is shit at determining aptitude) but considering his was in the low 2's and lockheed only hires above 3's, it really makes me concerned about how many other idiots they have.
Sidenote, Skunkworks is entirely filled with inept women that were hired under similar circumstance. The reason GPA isn't a good indication of applicable engineering skills is academics are only loosely related to actual application and anyone can memorize and regurgitate info (something women are good at) which leads to inept people being put in positions they should not be. Yes, I don't think that, in general, women make even remotely good engineers. There are obviously exceptions but most are absolute shit and it takes 1-2 guys holding their hand/fixing their shit for them to 'succeed'.
