Im not even jokingThat's what the board wants, yes. The actual rule is that all positions are open for women only for the first half year. So, what they'll most likely get is a half year delay on their vacanies. I wonder how long it'll take before they realise it doesn't work.
I mean, sure more female staff in our department (math and CS) would be nice. But this way won't work.
Apart from the fact that there's barely any qualified women out there (and of those that are, didn't go for the better paying jobs in industry), it would be nice if the board offered actual resources (i.e. money) to hire these people. But no, instead the board imposes nonsense rules, which they justify by waving around inachievable goals for the national news.
