Caffeine's stimulatory action is thought to primarily be due to blocking adenosine receptors, and it's euphoric effects are largely a result of upregulation of catecholamines (dopamine, norepinephrine) and serotonin. Norepinephrine could be associated with elevated cortisol levels, but NE is mostly a short term stress regulator while cortisol is longer term and requires a much more complex signaling cascade that, as far as I know, functions independently of catecholamines.
