Medical doctors aren't scientists. They're doctors. Normal doctors don't and shouldn't have to be well versed in medical science, just in medicine with regard to their specific field. Medical science is for the PhDs.

The key thing here is that the bleach should be very diluted,like 0.5% on 1L.
Bleach in low concentrations in medicine is used for disinfection for ages from cleaning inorganic surfaces to cleaning wounds.
The fact that it works on skin diseases is not news but it is a mystery of what causes the effect.
But people should not do it home on their own unless advised from a physician.

? no, its not a fucking mystery.. its bleach .. its fucking bleach.. it will kill literally any microbe that it comes into contact with. and since "science" still is stuck in the dark ages with:

then, of course, you get to pay for your next doctors visit and prescription when the problem comes back even worse.
