>>11237515Why what is the point? To produce such machines you use energy, ie. produce more CO2. Then to operate they need energy. Fossil powerplants have around 40% up to 60% efficiency. Then add transfer of that power. You can build powerplants near scrubbers, but then you need infrastructure, people houses, whole towns, etc. (you need them anyway to operate just somewhere else). So you would be lucky if you could get 15% CO2 removed over what is produced totally (energy making, powerplanets, scrubbers, living for staff). Also there is scale, you operating on level of terraforming mars or earth back to clean state scale. Just think how many cars and factories we have, to reverse it you need as many CO2 scrubbers, or almost 10 times more (because of very bad efficiency with reclaiming CO2). We rather need more biological organisms that remove CO2 from atmosphere, hmm what that could be?
