How are you supposed to orient the motor and propeller correctly when you use a cylindrical shaft as a wing.

What fixes the shaft so that the motor is pointing normal to the body of the drone?

a good design should have a notch in the tube on both ends to orient it, but if it doesn't you can just eyeball it flat with the body.
if you cant see it very well, use a straight edge on the motor mount or something flat to help you.
