This is my collection of fragrant/odorous organic compounds so far. From left to right, and my best attempt to describe their odors:

* methyl salicylate. Sweet root beer, mint lifesavers, mint mouthwash, wintergreen

* isopropyl salicylate: green vegetable floral lime sour herbal

* 1-pentanol: jolly ranchers, sweet oily buttery yeasty bready fusel (my favorite)
