a few months ago i decided to start screencapping the 10 day weather forecast to see how accurate it was. turns out they're extremely inaccurate. this dovetails with what i learned studying atmospheric sciences and computer modeling in college.
given that model based weather forecasting is so inaccurate and fundamentally limited, how come so much resources are poured down that rathole? are weather forecasters really any more scientific than the people publishing horoscopes?
