>>11235977Not the same anon (nor do I agree with all of his statements), but there are quite a few different perspectives on consciousness. In terms of scientific work the entire fields of Cognitive Sciences and Cogniyive Neuroscience are examples. E.g people like Paul Smolensky, Ray Jackendoff, and Noam Chomsky. Theres also pure philosophers like Saul Kripke, Thomas Metzinger, John Searle, and Ludwig Wittgenstein who have done great work on the topic. Finally the least interesting people to hear from are probably psychologists, but there are still a few who do actual research like Stephen Kosslyn or people in evo. psych like David Buss and Gad Saad. Unfortunately psychology departments, even at top universities now function more like training centers for clinical psychologists. Most of the people still doing "research" in psych departments are literally doing self-help tier research about topic you'd read about in lifestyle magazines.
But yeah in neuroscience, cognitive science, and to a lesser extent, philosophy departments, we're seeing a ton of great work on consciousness.
Personally my fav stuff is formal models of language, evolutionary neuroscience, and formal models of interaction and social development. All of it is interesting though.
