Is it too late to switch engineering majors?

Hello /sci/

Long story short, I'm a junior in civil engineering and want to switch over to electrical engineering. Should I keep going or should I bite the bullet and switch? At the very least a lot of the common classes are over with so I shouldn't have too much catching up to do.

Anon, I must warn you, Electrical Engineering is a LOT different than civical engineering. The professors are a lot nastier than the physical engineering majors (Mech, Civ, etc.). If you stick with civil engineering you'll probably get into a good organization fast and probably into a good union or a good internship with relatively good pay and then you can always go back if you really really want to.

However, I have always been on the conservative side of things so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Switch it. There's absolutely no reason to get a degree in a field which you don't like (or isn't your favourite). Why would you not switch majors, if you don't mind me asking?

a little quantum, a little algebra, a little calculus, and for the most part, a little bit of hours in the laboratory which will make or break your grades.
(research ohm's law, V=RI, also current relationships, also watch as much stuff as possible about generic silicon stuff like diodes transistors bjts etc)

I’m currently on track to become a pilot in the military, so this will push me back in that regard at least an extra year. Since I’m a junior as well it’s a bit late academically speaking. Since there’s a lot of overlap, a lot of the general math and engineering courses will transfer over, so it’s not like I’m completely starting from scratch.

If you won't exceed your country's age limit to be a pilot by the time you graduate, just go for it. Doesn't really matter if it's your junior or even senior year, it's always preferrable to major in something that actually interests you.

I can't think of a major that would be that difficult, anon. Even if you have a hard time in the beginning, you don't have to be a 140+ IQ genius to get into any field. Worst case scenario, you could just start doing less credits until you eventually adapt to your field. Not saying it would be easy, but I don't think being stupid is a valid excuse

Why are you asking this in this thread? I didn't bother reading the entire article, but all I read was just mentioning basic quantum physics experiments and principles in a way any layman could grasp and saying "ooooh, it's so weird, isn't it?" while the author fits in some bullshit speculation on whether or not counsciousness and quantum physics are related
