Cleanroom chem: Piranha solution and solvents

No.11233789 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I've prepared piranha solution countless times but of course never added solvents to it. The typical warning being "explosion risk". Now, "explosion" is a rather fuckin vague description, and from what I've read online I can't tell if people mean spontaneous, violent boiling of the solution that gets all over you or if the solvent actually detonates.
I know acetone and hydrogen peroxide make a highly sensitive explosive, would the heat or H ions from freshly-prepared piranha detonate the acetone peroxide instantly or something?
