Found this while gathering sea glass on the coast here in Maine. I tested it for plastic or rubber which is neither

As a wee lad I found rocks like that in a forest preserve in DuPage county, Illinois.
I was convinced it was a meteorite, but I remember being told it was a byproduct of some industrial process. Too lazy to look into it now but I thought I'd give you a lead.

This is a good pic making visible the different constituents of the rock. I can see the orange is some oxidized iron, but the green glassy stuff has remained a mystery to me.

No one can identify this shit by sight goofball.
Find a mineral identification key, or take it to a college and ask the geology prof for help.
Especially if you found it on the sea floor where it could be anything from ballast, natural rock, or just some random chunk of shit that had a concretion of sediment around it.
