The chance of i out of n hitting is (n choose i)*(probability of hitting)^i*(probability of not hitting)^(n-i)

So probability of at least one is 1-(probability of i=0)

And probability of at least 2 is 1 - (probability of i=0) - (probability of i=1)

I put this into a calculator and got 90% for one shot hitting and 60% for two shots hitting, but I have no idea what I'm actually doing or why this is the answer.

I think I get that "1" is the 100% probability that we start with, but why make the probabilities of the shots '^' instead of just +ing them together?

Then the probability... shit man i posted a more detailed explanation and a link to the wikipedia article about binomials.
This is a binomial.
For at least one hit that means 4 fail. So you fail 4 times. The chance of failing 4 times is (probability of failing) power 4.

Read the Wikipedia article.
