Or maybe there's an archive of books, articles, documentaries, message boards, etc.

/sci/ is good enough as far as public places go.
You have to make real life connections with real people who interest you for their intelligence or knowledge. This is how life works.

There are places on IRC and Discord where experts and professors gather to chat casually, but they're guarded by the secret police, so if you ask too many questions (AKA anything interesting), you will have the secret police looking into your stuff.

XKCD IRC is an example (lots of Harvard and MIT people, guarded by the DoD), Metafilter Chat and IRC another, I don't remember the Discord one that was guarded by the Mossad but if you look for intellectual Discords you might find it.

I am constantly bored by most threads and posts here.
Some are really good tho, but it's like 5-10%.
The scope of most posters' thought and concern is not wide and deep enough form me to be constantly entertained on /sci/.
People here dream about the future, but neglect the past. They talk about humanity as if it is something more important and more great than just another eukaryotic cell lineage.
But I gotta say that other boards are even more boring, so /sci/ is the best board on 4chan still and probably the best board on the internet.
