The most interesting stuff is the early Earth, probably not related to your job. But I like this subject, so I'll ramble a bit in your thread.
Basically it's a ball that got super-heated long ago for unknown reasons and is still pretty hot. Metallic ball in the center, then huge mantle composed of oxides, lots of silicon for some reason, then thin crust of cooled mantle called simply that, crust, cracked and broken into plates that float and move on mantle and allow for planet's heat to escape. Oceans of water of unknown origin, probably separated from the early mantle, but some say it was brought by meteorites, the outer layer is gaseous. Moon, again of unknown origin, looks like it's composed simply of earthly magma that got thrown away and then cooled. And of course, "life".
