Yes it implies there is a limited amount of energy.
We have no evidence of anything observable before the big bang. Whatever "caused" the big bang did not leave a footprint in this universe.
People say it came from a singularity, when something occupied a space smaller than it should be able to.
If it's convenient, you could say god was a singularity. But there's no information connecting that god to anything we can observe
