It would not knock the moon out of orbit, but the reduced mass would cause it to leave Earth faster than it already is leaving. You need to understand the moon is already "knocked out of orbit" but that trajectory and velocity takes it ages. As for being tidally locked, it would be turned into a partially molten gravel pile and would certainly start rotating differently. It'd most likely become tidally locked again before eventually leaving Earth entirely.
