Best way to remember Theorems?

I'm starting to take upper division math classes, and I'm having a hard time remembering theorems, especially from my past classes. Do you guys have an tips for keeping track of them, specifically stuff around group theory. I have a really hard time remembering the various theorems about group homomorphisms and isomorphisms

Nobody memorizes them. You naturally remember them by 1) gaining intuition behind it, 2) proving it, 3) doing exercises.

I'm not saying memorize, but how do you gain "intuition" to know what theorems to use? I often blank out on most of my proof questions.

You just know what you want to happen. E.g. for group theory you almost always want to simplify a quotient by the isomorphism theorems, so picking the canonical homomorphisms comes naturally from there. Also most areas of math (especially at the lower divisions) stem from some core ideas/theorems. So if you understand those well, the rest comes naturally

Yeah, thinking I didn't need to memorize anything because I could just prove it in the exam is exactly how I got my first D on a test. And on Fourier Analysis of all simple things to fail a test on, fuck me.

OP, just do practice problems to memorize the little theorems before a test. After a course, you should always get to the big fundamental theorem that wraps everything up. Memorize just those and you should be find. If you don't know what I mean, think of the homomorphism theorems in group theory. Memorize that and you are golden as far as undergraduate group theory goes.
