What is a good resource for ciphers? I am trying to solve a puzzle that requires me to find the 6th word in a sequence.
I am not interested in being given the answer (which is why I won't post the actual puzzle here) but I am curious to know where I can learn more about this sort of stuff. The question is one of many in what is essentially paperbased cicada, to give you an idea of the difficulty. So it isn't a sequence of "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, ???", it is harder than that. Some of the questions I have managed to solve, but this one has me completely stumped and any sort of cipher I am aware of doesn't result in anything. I have tried combining ciphers, nothing. Rearranging the words/letters of the given words in various manners and grids before ciphering, nothing etc. etc.. I end up nowhere, and I have no idea what a good online resource is to learn more about complex ciphers/encoding methods.
