Any oldfags around who remember the Energy Trap series of blog posts and how it will be impossible for humanity to become a Type I civilization because our energy output will literally cook the planet?

Every single thing Tom Murphy (associate professor of physics at the University of California) predicted has come true. Just look at global warming. The planet's already headed towards disaster and our current energy output isn't even remotely close to Type 1 status.

There is no way around this energy trap.
