if there was a programmable chip/brain implant that could (eventually or instantly) fix severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, do you think it would be the right thing to do to put them into ill people without their knowledge or even against their will? what if it changes their personality in any way?
it's already legal to lock them up if they pose a threat to themselves or others.
