Where did they came from? Did they really evolved from something else? Why their aesthetics resemble machines so much? They look... so artificial. Would it be that in reality they are artificial beings programmed by aliens to control Planet Earth population?

There were probably never any aliens on this planet.
Viruses may be the sentient machines that rebelled against and got into a war with planetary life 4.5 billion years ago.
The planet was turned into a furnace with a melted iron core.
The result is the Moon, axial spin, thermoreduced microscopic cells, and the current reemerged postapocalyptic world in general.

But flat Earth is a cool story too.

That's only for bacteriophages most viruses are just round blobs or wormlike.

They are artificial beings programmed by God to control the gay population. That's why they look so different than other forms of life.

If I recall correctly, they "evolve" by mutating fast and dumping everything that isn't immediately useful, instead of mutating slow and keeping everything that isn't harmful. As a result they're highly task optimized "organisms", there really isn't any wasted space on a Virus to speak of. We recognize that aesthetic from machines, which are also often built to cut out as much as possible in favor of pure functionality. Just remember though, the Viruses were around long before we began to build articulated machines, our design philosophy resembles their evolved form, not the other way around.
