What would happen if someone used the number 3 instead of 3.14 when calculating on a test. Would the result still give full points?

Depends on how accurate your solution needs to be, but it would probably not give full points.

Depends on how accurate it needs to be.
Pi is a variable though, so you can absolutely just not calculate it and just leave it as pi along with the constants and other operations you require.

in what test would you possibly need this..? In physics is the input decimals which decide the decimal bottleneck, otherwise you simply keep the symbol pi
