Can energy really be said to be conserved on a universal scale if space is expanding?
As the space between object A and B expands the amount of energy required to travel between those objects in some fixed amount of time increases.
Sure, expansion means the proper distance as measured with a stick increases so you're actually traveling further, but that seems equivalent to saying the same amount of energy gets you less far or that your measuring stick gets smaller and smaller because it is just a form of energy.
