By 2050 countries like those of South Asia that already have nukes are going to be nearly untouchable by conventional means as well as economic means because they might have enough money to withstand sanctions.
I dunno about South America though. They seem stupid because they don't seem to want to develop nuclear weapons. They're also firmly under the boot of America. That's unlikely to change. The same with the middle east. No nukes no defence from America and Israel. But China has dug their infrastructure into places like Iraq and Africa which means they'll softly run those places longterm.
America will probably be relegated to mess with South America only. Everyone will become a regional power if they can amass money and develop nuclear weapons.
Nigeria might run Africa by 2100.
