Although exagerated, biology is just like that.
Instead of just investing in omics we need better models and frameworks for working in complex systems, because it's either that, or creating a biological system from scracht that is designed to be reliably modified in a short ammount of time and independently of the stage of development, which is nearly impossible because we still can't predict complex systems.
