Bourbaki/History of Math edition
85 years ago today (December 10, 1934) the founders of the Nicolas Bourbaki group met for the very first time at the cafe A. Capoulade in central Paris, with the object of reforming French mathematics education, especially analysis/calculus. This ballooned into the "Elements of Mathematic" (no typo) project, which flourished during the middle of the 20th century and later declined (though is still technically active).
